Pekanbaru, November 11, 2025 – The Undergraduate (S1) Development Economics Study Program, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau organized a Seminar on Enhancing the Skills and Quality of Graduates of the Development Economics Study Program as part of the 2025 Development Economics Study Program Curriculum Workshop series. The seminar carried the theme “Enhancing the Skills and Quality of Graduates of the Development Economics Study Program, Department of Economics, FEB UNRI 2025”, aiming to strengthen students’ competencies so they can compete and adapt to the increasingly dynamic demands of the job market.
The seminar featured Dr. Yustika, M.I.Kom, a Public Speaking Coach and Lecturer at Universitas Padjadjaran, as the main speaker. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of communication and public speaking skills as strategic soft skills that must be possessed by university graduates. Through interactive and practical materials, students were provided with insights and effective communication techniques to support their academic performance as well as their future professional careers.
The seminar was conducted face-to-face (offline) on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Integrated Classroom of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau, from 08:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. WIB. The event received strong enthusiasm from Development Economics students, as reflected in their active participation during discussion and practice sessions. Through this seminar, the Department of Economics, FEB UNRI hopes to continuously improve the quality of its graduates, ensuring they excel not only academically but also possess strong communication skills and high competitiveness
