Pekanbaru, 14 November 2025 — The Undergraduate (S1) Development Economics Study Program, Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau, organized a Seminar on Enhancing Student Competence for the Development Economics Study Program, carrying the theme “Macroeconomics and Microeconomics.” The seminar aimed to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding of macroeconomic and microeconomic theories and issues, which serve as the fundamental foundation for the development of Development Economics as a discipline.
The seminar featured Vid Adrison, PhD, a lecturer from the Department of Economics at Universitas Riau, as the main speaker. In his presentation, the speaker explained the interconnection between macroeconomic and microeconomic theories and the dynamics of the national and regional economy. The material was delivered comprehensively and supported by up-to-date examples, encouraging students to think critically and analytically in understanding various economic phenomena.
The seminar was conducted offline (in person) on Friday, 14 November 2025, at the Srikandi Building, FEB Universitas Riau, from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB. The activity received a positive response and high enthusiasm from Development Economics students, as reflected in their active participation during the discussion sessions. Through this seminar, the Department of Economics, FEB UNRI, hopes to continuously improve the academic quality of its students and strengthen their competencies as competitive future economists.
