Bank Indonesia: stated that according to its duties, Bank Indonesia has controlled Inflation in Riau according to the target set, namely 3-4 percent during 2023. Bank Indonesia has encouraged and strengthened the regional macroeconomic framework through its collaboration with the regional government. Bank Indonesia also monitors regional economic fluctuations to keep them conducive.
Meanwhile, the Riau Provincial Bappeda stated that the Riau Provincial Government had succeeded in increasing economic growth in 2022 by 4.55 percent, according to the target of above 3 percent, as well as controlling the unemployment rate of 9.75 percent and maintaining the Human Development Index of 73.52.
On the other hand; B. Isyandi, stated that the economic growth rate of Riau Province in 2005 was already at 5.41 percent while in 2022 it was at 4.37 percent. The Riau Provincial Government should continue to encourage the economic growth of Riau Province to return to above 5 percent, not 3 percent. With a Human Development Index of 73.52, the open unemployment rate (TPT) of 4.37 percent and the poverty rate of 6.84 percent; the Riau provincial economy could grow above 5 percent. This is also supported by the shift in the regional economy from being dominated by the mining sector to the processing industry. Previously, the mining sector contributed 30 percent, now the processing industry is 30 percent and the mining sector has dropped to 20 percent in the period 2013-2022.
