The Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Riau, in collaboration with the Indonesian Waqf Board, is organizing a General Lecture on Islamic Economics with the theme “Waqf Literacy and the Implementation of Productive Waqf in Indonesia.” This activity aims to enhance the understanding and literacy of the academic community and the public regarding the strategic role of waqf as an Islamic economic instrument in supporting sustainable national development.
This general lecture features Commissioners of the Indonesian Waqf Board as speakers, namely Dr. Sulistyowati, SE., M.Si., CWC, Secretary of the Nazhir Institution (LK) of BWI, and Dr. Agus Priyatno, MM., CWC, Head of the Public Relations, Socialization, and Literacy Division of BWI. Through their presentations, participants are expected to gain comprehensive insights into the concept of waqf literacy as well as the practices and implementation of productive waqf that have been and are currently being developed in Indonesia.
This activity will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM WIB until completion, at the Integrated Classroom (IC) Building, ground floor, Pakning Theater Room, Binawidya Campus, Universitas Riau. The general lecture is organized by the Department of Economics, FEB UNRI, in collaboration with the Indonesian Waqf Board, and is supported by the Islamic Economics KJFD, the Center for Socio-Economic Studies (PSSE) of LPPM, and KaSE.
